Coastwide Engineering Solutions provides a full range of Mechanical Engineering services. Principal engineer, Benjamin Doolan is a Chartered Professional Engineer, is listed on the National Engineering Register and as an RPEQ. Ben is also a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators.
Ben came to engineering after working as a qualified automotive mechanic and returned to study to become a Mechanical Engineer. During his studies, Ben completed a year with Holden Ltd as a co-op student in the Power-train Reliability group. Ben graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical in 2005. Upon graduation, Ben took a job as a Mechanical Design Engineer for a heavy haulage trailer manufacturer where he was Project Manager of a powered trailer development. In this role Ben carried out many design projects and specialised in powertrain and hydraulic drive development.
Ben's practical skills and technical knowledge allow him to deliver quality reports for forensic investigations. Whether the aim is to find a root cause of failure, to identify an ignition point or to determine the contributing factors in early wear and fatigue, Ben is thorough in his investigation, analysis and reporting.
As an approved person and HVRAS officer with Queensland Transport, Ben has a thorough understanding of light and heavy vehicle modifications and registration requirements and can assist you by authorising modification plates (blue plates) and carrying out HVRAS inspections for heavy vehicle registrations. As an experienced Design Engineer with manufacturing experience, Ben can assist with all of your 3D design and drafting requirements and product development and manufacture.
